"Ragnar! I speak to you with the Dread Voice Spell! Heroes of the Realm have defeated Skulmar! Our Dark Lord commands you to venture into the ruins of Kalos where he fell. The King has dispatched soldiers to Kalos to destroy the remaining Forgotten Legion. Go in the guise of their commander. Skulmar is in possession of the Witch Lord's most powerful spell books. He is your priority, find him and escape with him alive! It may be necessary for you to slay our Lord's minions to maintain your disguise, this is inconsequential. Beware! Remnants of the Forgotten Legion, steeped in Dread and malice, emerge from death as Ethereal Specters."

This quest is intended to be played in place of Knight Fall. It takes place shortly after the conclusion to the Return of the Witch Lord quest line. It can be played any time after Return of the Witch Lord - Quest 7: The Forgotten Legion. 

This quest also serves no other purpose than to give a fun storytelling experience. The experience and treasure gained in this quest shouldn't be carried over to other quests. Think of this as a side story to give some background to later events in the HeroQuest universe.

Inspiration for this quest came to me while listening to the song Traitor's Gate by Visigoth:

"Cold is the crown of death. Fear in its chilling breath. Howls like wraiths upon the wind.
Watch with weeping eyes. Flames on a bleeding sky. I've seen true betrayal!
Sorrow fills my soul. Reforged by the cold flames of hate, past the point of no return.
Vengeance guide my hand. Brothers no more, in single combat we stand.
Now draw your final breath, bitter is the end..."
